Radeon Pro Wx 5100 and 4100 on hackintosh

While the market for GPUs is not a crazy mess like it used to be, there is a shortage of options for low end cards on hackintosh if you actually care about full hardware accelerate engines. This is crucial if your CPU has no igpu or like Rocket / Alder Lake, it’s not working on macos.

The lowest option new is Rx550 – but they come in different cores and not cheap at all, and sometimes just 2 outputs. The 460 / 560 are not avaiable new in europe, and go for 100 euros used on ebay.

No OpenCore settings were needed, no faking of IDs or anything on my B660 system.

The Wx4100 is SFF half height single slot, 4 MINI DP ports, 4GB ram and has full 1024 shaders Baffin (GCN 4.0) core, PCIE slot power only, around 6500 Firestrike score

Wx5100 is short full height, single slot, 4 full DP ports, 8GB ram and has a cutdown Ellesmere (GCN 4.0) core similar to Rx 560X and 570D, PCIE slot power only, around 6500 Firestrike score

Wx7100 is full height, single slot, 4 full DP ports, 8GB ram and has a full Ellesmere (GCN 4.0) core similar to Rx 480, 580 and 590, with a 6 pin PCIE PSU power, around 12000 Firestrike score

Mi8 is short full height, dual slot, ONE DP port, 4GB HBM ram with Fiji (GCN 3.0) core like R9 Fury Nano, with 8 pin PCIE PSU power, around 14000 Firestrike score depending on the power limits / undervolt – this one has NO ENCODING support on macos so use it with iGpu enabled ( iMac SMBIOS )
